Introduction to Unisuper

Overview:
While especially relevant to members who have joined in the past 12 months, this seminar is suitable for all members wanting to gain a basic overview of UniSuper, including:
- the difference between defined benefit and accumulation accounts
- insurance options available to members
- an outline of the different investment options offered, and
- the benefits of UniSuper membership for life.
Contribution caps — Tips, traps and strategies

Overview:
The rules around contributing to super can be complex and confusing. This seminar aims to take away the confusion and explain the different types of contributions to super. It is suitable to all members considering:
- the difference between concessional and non-concessional contributions
- incentives to contribute to super such as the spouse rebate and Government co-contribution
- the benefits of salary sacrifice arrangements
- contribution caps and potential penalties for breaching them, and
- strategies to minimise the effect of the contribution caps.
